West Palm Beach, Fla., February 26, 2025 — Capping off a year of expansion, the shareholders of Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A. have unanimously elected Tara Duhy as the firm’s next president.

Duhy has earned a number of awards for her leadership and expertise in land use, environmental, and water law. Duhy has served on the firm's Executive Committee and managed the West Palm Beach office for nine years, she also chairs the firm’s land use and development practice groups. As part of her statewide land use, natural resource and water law practice, Duhy advises clients through every stage of permitting, government coordination and enforcement related to development.
“Dedication to our people ensures that our clients will always receive quality counsel and tireless advocacy,” said Duhy. “It’s not just good business, it’s a culture that naturally builds upon itself in attracting and retaining the best talent to our firm.”
Immediate Past President Michelle Diffenderfer is confident that the organization’s leadership is in strong hands, reflecting a long-standing commitment by the firm to thoughtfully cultivate the next generation of leaders.
“I am very excited to devote more time to our clients, and fortunate to have Tara continue to take our firm to smart and continued growth in the future,” said Diffenderfer, who has served as LLW’s President since 2015. “It’s a challenge for any firm to sustain growth while building a bench within. But together, we have built a team that will seamlessly carry us forward.”
Since LLW began serving clients more than 30 years ago, there have been many changes as the firm’s successes led to expansion across the state.
As LLW became one of Florida's leading firms on issues related to the environment, land use and regulatory law, the firm continues to grow to meet client needs in critical and complicated areas that contribute to smart growth for the state of Florida.
Established in 1994, the founding partners created a culture that has allowed the firm to grow, successfully navigating the transition from founding partners and defying an industry trend.
In the past 12 months alone, LLW’s success has allowed an expansion of nine new lawyers, bringing an infusion of youthful talent nurtured by thoughtful leadership.
“Growing and evolving is more than a show of pride,” said Duhy. “It’s a commitment to our clients that we will continue to provide effective counsel with the brightest talent in the state.”
