SUMMARY:2017 Woman of the Year Luncheon
DESCRIPTION:Registration is now closed. Walk-ins available.\n\n\n\nJoin the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce's Women in Business Council for the annual Woman of the Year Luncheon on Tuesday\, October 24 at Wyndham Grand Jupiter. Our guest emcee for this event will be Stephanie Berzinski of WPBF 25 News.\n\nDuring this event\, we will honor the recipient of the Woman of the Year award as well as recognize the finalists. The finalists and recipient for this award demonstrate a commitment to the Palm Beach North community by inspiring community-wide support and exemplify the highest standards of business and community leadership that positively impacts the growth of the Palm Beach North Community.\n\nThe recipient for this award must meet or exceed the following criteria:\n\n\n	Demonstrate leadership that benefits the Palm Beach North community by creating or contributing significantly to the success of one or more local organizations.\n	Demonstrate a commitment to the Palm Beach North community by inspiring community-wide support.\n	Exemplifies the highest standards of business and community leadership.\n	Positively impacts the growth of the Palm Beach North Community.\n\n\nThe 2017 finalists include Kimberly Lea\, President of Keiser University's West Palm Beach Campus\, Maria Marino\, Mayor\, City of Palm Beach Gardens\, and Chelsea Reed\, Business Manager at Palm Beach Spine Institute.\n\n \nKimberly Lea\, President\, Keiser University - West Palm Beach Campus\n\nKimberly is passionate about the role education plays in improving lives and creating opportunities for students and communities.  She serves as the Campus President of Keiser University\, Florida's Career University\, in West Palm Beach.\n\nKim serves on numerous local boards including the Economic Council\, the Education Foundation\, the Literacy Coalition\, YWCA\, Leadership Palm Beach County (2016) and Junior Achievement.  Kimberly has served on multiple panels discussing issues in higher education and leadership.  She is currently working on her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership\, which will be complete in 2018.  She enjoys supporting organizations that promote education as well as those which help to advance and support women and children. Kimberly lives in Jupiter and has four amazing children.  \n\nMaria Marino\, Mayor\, City of Palm Beach Gardens\n\nMaria Marino\, is a native of Connecticut and a graduate of the University of Connecticut. After winning the Connecticut State Women's Amateur Championship in 1985\, she came to Florida to hone her skills and never left.\n\n\n\nAs a professional golfer\, Ms. Marino has been a member and mentor with the Ladies Professional Golf Association since 1994. She served on the organization's National Marketing Committee\, as Southeast Section Treasurer and a Member-Mentor Advisor.\n\nMs. Marino owns a Real Estate firm based in Palm Beach Gardens and serves as the Executive Director of the Jupiter Children's Foundation. With a strong belief in community service and philanthropy\, Ms. Marino lends her talents to many public initiatives targeted at enriching the lives of at-risk youth and fostering relationships in the business world that benefit underserved populations.\n\nElected to the Palm Beach Gardens City Council in 2016\, Ms. Marino become the City's Mayor in 2017. Currently\, she sits on a multitude of county and statewide boards.\n\nAlways athletic\, as a student she ran track\, played volleyball\, skied and was a cheerleader. It's somehow fitting that\, 40 years later\, Ms. Marino is back to being a cheerleader - only this time\, it's for the city she's proud to call home. "You can be a huge success in business\, but what have you done for your community\," she asks. "At the end of the day\, that's what it's about."\n\nChelsea Reed\, Business Manager\, Palm Beach Spine Institute\n\nChelsea Reed is an active member of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce\, serving as the Health Care Committee Chair and is employed as the Business Manager of the Palm Beach Spine Institute in Jupiter. Chelsea has been involved in local healthcare for over 20 years\, with a focus on community outreach\, project management\, relationship development and event planning. In 2016\, she completed her Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership & Management at the University of Florida and she holds a Certification as a Competent Communicator from Scientifically Speaking at Scripps. Chelsea is also an active volunteer\, serving on committees for Jupiter Medical Center\, Honda Classic Cares\, Galloway Palm Beach\, Team Spine/Chicago Marathon for the Spina Bifida Association and is currently under consideration for the Board at My Clinic in Jupiter and the Art in Public Places Advisory Board for the City of Palm Beach Gardens.\n\nChelsea\, a lifelong resident of Palm Beach Gardens\, has been married to Michael Reed for over 23 years and has two teenage sons who attend Suncoast High School. The Reeds enjoy weekly trips to the beach\, active travel\, triathlons\, marathons\, water sports\, support of the arts\, and family time.
