Show your school spirit by wearing your collegiate apparel! The school with the most representation will have a chance to win our raffle items. Also\, we will have Florida Atlantic University's Deputy Director of Athletics\, Ryan Alpert\, speaking at this event.\n\n\n\nGuests will receive two drink tickets and complimentary hors d'oeuvres.\n\n\n\nLearn more about the speaker:\nRyan Alpert was named Florida Atlantic University's deputy director of athletics\, May 7\, 2018. His position will shepherd FAU's Athletic Advancement efforts.\n\n\n\nAlpert will be focused upon the athletic development initiatives as well as the relationship with the FAU Fan Relationship Management Center\, the ticket sales and operations arm of FAU Athletics. He also will serve as the men's basketball program sport administrator\, which is under the leadership of its newly hired head coach\, Dusty May.\n\n\n\nAlpert came to Boca Raton from the University of Missouri\, where he led the 14-member Tiger Scholarship Fund (TSF) staff to record-setting fundraising success in support of the Southeastern Conference institution's 550 student-athletes while also serving as sport administrator to Mizzou men's golf. Under Alpert's leadership\, the TSF generated a school-record $50.4 million in support of Mizzou's 20-sport intercollegiate athletic program during the 2016-17 fiscal year\, an amount that broke the previous record by nearly $5 million which was raised in Mizzou's first year of SEC membership.\n\n\n\nTSF's record-breaking 2016-17 total\, which included new pledges and cash gifts\, was aided by a school-record 11 gifts of $1 million or more\, and was more than double the $21.96 million raised in 2015-16. It also marked just the second time in school history that the TSF surpassed the $40 million threshold in philanthropic support and just the fifth time it topped the $30 million plateau.\n\n\n\nAlpert went to Mizzou following a highly successful five-year stint at the University of Memphis\, where he played a key role in the department's fundraising success and rise to national prominence. After starting his career as an assistant director of development at Memphis\, he was promoted into the Tigers' director of development role and eventually to assistant athletic director. In September 2014\, Alpert assisted the Tigers' development team in securing the largest gift in Memphis women's athletics history.\n\n\n\nAt Memphis\, Alpert also provided leadership to a capital campaign that raised $32.5 million over an 18-month period\, and also served as the lead presenter on a $4.8 million project with the City of Memphis to renovate and create new premium seating opportunities at historic Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium.\n\n\n\nHis experience was not limited to just securing major gifts\, as he also oversaw Memphis' $7 million annual fund while spearheading an overhaul of its athletics' gift-in-kind program. Alpert also served as the sport administrator for the Tigers' nationally ranked men's and women's tennis teams.\n\n\n\nAlpert began his career as an athletics' advancement intern at the University of Miami before interning two years at South Carolina\, where he earned an undergraduate degree with cum laude distinction. He received a master's degree from the University of Memphis with a leadership studies concentration. He was joined in Florida by his wife\, Rebecca.
