Heather Cogar: Statewide Director, Community Engagement for the Florida Chamber of Commerce

Heather Cogar serves with the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Prosperity Initiative, where she works to unite business, nonprofit, and government partners to cut childhood poverty in half by 2030 by addressing its root causes at the ZIP code level. Her passion for this mission is personal. After overcoming significant adversity early in life and growing up in the foster care system, Heather earned her bachelor’s degree in business and went on to serve as a deputy sheriff before building a successful career in real estate. Those experiences shaped her commitment to helping families move from crisis to self-sufficiency. Today, she works across Florida to align leaders around data-driven solutions that strengthen families, grow local economies, and ensure every child has a real opportunity to succeed — regardless of their ZIP code.
Award Descriptions:
- Valor Award - Awarded to a first responder who demonstrates exceptional courage above and beyond the call of duty, regardless of personal safety, to save another person's life or protect them from harm.
- This is a rare award to share and might not be applicable in 2026; nominations are due in mid-March 2026 and the Chamber can confirm if this award is available afterward.
- Community Service Award - Awarded to first responders who have given back to their community by unselfishly volunteering their time to a non-profit agency, organization, community group, or project that benefits the community within the boundaries of Palm Beach North.
- Call of the Year - Awarded to recognize one outstanding call from a Fire/Rescue department AND one outstanding call from a Police Department for acts of valor.

| Event Cancellation Policy: A notice of cancellation must be received by eemailwithin 48 hours (2 business days) before the event. Verbal cancellations will be accepted. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the eventwill NOTT receive eventcredit too solidify attendance numbers with the event venue. All cancellation notices received at least 8 hours (2 business days) before the event will be issued in event credit of equal value. Event credits will be applied upon request and are good for up to 1 year from the purchase date. There are NO REFUNDS. |
NOTE: Premier Events (ArtiGras Tickets / Loggerhead Triathlon Registrations) and Special Events (The Leadership Awards Dinner / Holiday Mixer / Business 2 Baseball / Golf Classic) do not qualify for an event credit upon cancellation. Contributions or gifts to the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. |
