School Age Group Leader

After School: 12:00pm -5:00pm
No School Days & Summer Camp: 8:00am -5:00pm
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma
2.     40 hours Training in
        a)      School Age Program Certification
        b)      Advancing Youth Development
3.     12 hours per year training
4.     Child Care First Aid and CPR
5.     Driver’s License with no citations
6.     Working knowledge of office computer software, e-mail systems and the internet.
7.     Clean criminal background check
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Complete classroom management including classroom sanitizing protocols.
  • Weekly and monthly lesson plans per curriculum and Prime Time PBC guidelines
  • Supervise children at all times. When children are at the center do not work on other activities.
  • While children are present you must be interacting & tutoring them, not sitting at the desk.
  • Assist with homework daily. If they do not have homework, tutor in the areas where they are having difficulty in school (refer to their report cards).
  • Keep children who have completed their homework, busy with reading, a quiet game, or worksheet if the other children are not finished with their homework.
  • Maintain discipline without screaming and yelling at the children.
  • Coordinate volunteers and community service students needed in your classroom with Program Director.
  • Work closely with public school teachers regarding children in your class and their needs.
  • Supervise and assign duties to classroom assistant
  • Monitor children at all times when on field trips.
  • Monitor children at all times during outdoor activities.
  • Provide computer assistance and monitor computer usage.
  • Maintain all classroom equipment,
  • Monthly, Unfreeze PC’s - Run computer software updates – Refreeze PC’s
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
