Our client is seeking a highly motivated Litigation Attorney to join their Litigation Team. This is a unique opportunity for a driven attorney to work closely with senior attorneys and paralegals on complex civil matters from day one. The right candidate will be deeply involved in substantive legal work, including court appearances, motion practice, and client strategy—gaining real courtroom experience and building a solid litigation foundation in a highly supportive environment.

Although the role is litigation-focused, the attorney will also gain exposure to the firm’s other core areas—estate planning, guardianship, probate, and trust administration—to provide a well-rounded legal perspective and enhance long-term career development.
 

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range:  $100,000 to $125,000
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 160 hours annually (equivalent to 4 weeks), usable for vacation or sick leave. Increases to 200 hours after 10 years of service. Available following the probationary period.
  • Court Holidays: 15 -16 paid holidays per year, in accordance with the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Court Holiday Schedule 
  • Health Insurance: Comprehensive medical coverage, including vision and dental, available after the probationary period.
  • Life Insurance: $50,000 in coverage provided, available after the probationary period.
  • 401(k) Retirement Plan: Employer matching available; eligibility begins after 6 months of service.
  • Semi-Annual Bonuses: Based on overall firm performance and/or individual professional merit.
  • Origination Credit: 10% of collected service fees (excludes costs) on matters originated for the first year
  • Bar Membership Dues: Florida Bar, Palm Beach County Bar, and Martin County Bar dues are covered by the firm.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Billable Hour Requirement (Annual): 1,600–1,800 hours (subject to adjustment based on workload and firm needs)
  • Draft memoranda, pleadings, and discovery documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare internal summaries or recommendations using Westlaw and LexisNexis
  • Attend depositions, court hearings, mediations, and trials in-person or remotely via video conferencing (with or without senior counsel, depending on experience)
  • Actively participate in conferences as needed with litigation team members to discuss and develop case strategies
  • Assist and conduct e-filing of pleadings in state court (Florida ePortal) and ensure compliance with procedural rules
  • Ensure case deadlines are tracked and met in adherence to calendaring and scheduling protocols
  • Communicate with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and third parties in a professional and timely manner
  • Support Senior Attorneys and Paralegals across various litigation and administrative tasks
  • Maintain case management reports and client communication logs to ensure proper tracking
  • Assist with drafting estate planning documents and reviewing probate/trust administration files, as needed, to provide cross-practice support
  • Stay informed on applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Accurately enter and track all billable and non-billable time and expense entries in the practice management system daily
  • Assist in document review for accuracy and completeness
  • Review and approve client invoices monthly or as needed
  • Monitor retainer agreements and escrow balances in coordination with the billing team; follow up with clients as needed regarding fee obligations and replenishment requests in alignment with court orders and engagement letters
  • Maintain compliance with Florida Bar CLE requirements, including pursuing firm-sponsored CLEs focused on Probate & Trust Litigation, Guardianship, and Estate Planning to deepen subject matter expertise

 

Qualifications:

  • Active member in good standing with the Florida Bar 
  • Minimum of 1-5 years of civil litigation experience preferred; candidates with up to 10 years of relevant experience will also be considered
  • Strong legal writing, research and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently and collaboratively
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong client-service orientation
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Comfort using digital calendaring, case tracking and internal task management systems
