Ofelia is President of Deluge Biotechnologies, a start-up company using DNA encoded chemical libraries to discover early leads for drug targets and serum bio-markers for preclinical cancers, infections and autoimmune diseases. The technology was originally developed in Dr. Thomas Kodadek's laboratory. Tom and Ofelia co-founded the company in 2017.
Ofelia has over 20 years of experience in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. She was on the faculty and Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program at St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas. She served as Medical Director of the ICU at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas. She spent many years in private practice in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine before transitioning to biotechnology.
Ofelia currently serves on the Board of Governors of Leadership Palm Beach County, Friends of Jupiter Beach, and The Forum Club. She is an alumnus of Leadership PBC Class of 2013 and Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class XXXIV.
