THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBER
Attorney Matthew Jay Lane Appointed to Foundation’s Board of Directors
 
(Lake Worth Beach, Fla.) – The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County’s President and CEO, James Gavrilos, has announced Matthew Jay Lane, senior attorney at Lane Law Firm, P.A., has joined its Board of Directors.
 
“Matthew brings an extraordinary depth of legal expertise and civic leadership to our board,” said Gavrilos. “From his experience as an elected council member to his leadership within the Palm Beach County Bar Association and numerous nonprofit organizations, Matthew understands how strong communities are built. We are honored to welcome him and look forward to the insight and integrity he will bring as we continue expanding opportunities for students across Palm Beach County.”
 
Lane, a resident of Palm Beach Gardens, is a graduate of Emory University in Georgia and a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law in Illinois. He is a past Council Member of the City of Palm Beach Gardens and has been Chair of the Palm Beach County Bar Association Marital and Family Law Committee for four consecutive terms.  He has served on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach Gardens Parks & Recreation Advisory Board, the North County Neighborhood Coalition and the Historical Society of Palm Beach County. Lane is a member of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Education Committee and the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee.  He has also served as legal counsel to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Hospice of Palm Beach County.
 
The Education Foundation Board of Directors executive officers include Lisa King, Board Chair; Lisa Park, Immediate Past Board Chair; Jordan Paul, Secretary and Chair of Programs and Grants Committee; Marty Cass, Treasurer and Chair of Finance Committee; Jim Moore, Chair of Human Resources Committee; Michael Pych, Chair of Development Committee; Max Macon, Executive Board Member; Juan Tagle, Executive Board Member and Kenneth Kahn, Executive Board Member.

The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County was founded in 1984 and awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources from Red Apple Supplies, the Foundation’s signature program. The Education Foundation operates over 100 programs which close achievement gaps in learning, prepare students for post-secondary success and create positive, measurable change for over 100,000 students.
