A “consummate professional whose entire legal career has been defined by his personal professional conduct,” Managing Partner Gary S. Lesser was honored by his peers on March 8 with the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s Sidney A. Stubbs Professionalism Award.

Attorneys Patricia Leonard and Alexcia Cox presented Lesser with the award in front of hundreds of attorneys and judges at a luncheon during the Palm Beach County Bar Association’s 2024 Bench Bar Conference.

“I think this is the biggest professional recognition of my career,” Lesser said. “Professionalism is the heart of the legal profession. We help our clients, we show respect to the court, and we give back to our community. I have seen the men and women who have received this award over many years, and I am honored to be in their company.”

Named for former Palm Beach County Bar Association President Sidney A. Stubbs, the award recognizes an attorney who has demonstrated outstanding professionalism, respect for the legal system, commitment to maintaining the highest levels of competence, courtesy and civility, and commitment to serving clients, the community and the public good. Previous award recipients include Michael Walsh, Adam Rabin, Patricia E. Lowry, Kara Berard Rockenbach and Scott Hawkins.

Lesser is the Immediate Past President of The Florida Bar and Managing Partner of Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC, a third-generation law firm with nearly a century of experience successfully fighting for injured clients and their families.

 A native of West Palm Beach, Lesser is highly respected in the legal field and often serves as a guest lecturer and media commentator on the topics of personal injury and professional ethics.

Lesser is a dedicated community servant who holds leadership positions in numerous civic and charitable organizations, including the Florida Supreme Court Historical Society, Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, Economic Council of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and Young Singers of the Palm Beaches.
