THE EDUCATION FOUNDATION OF PALM BEACH COUNTY ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW BOARD MEMBERS
Individuals Include Steve Bush, David Dolan, Celina V. Holson and Britnye Kurty
(Boynton Beach, Fla.) – The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, which serves as a nexus between the county’s public schools, the private sector and the community, has announced that Steve Bush, David Dolan, Celina V. Holson and Britnye Kurty have joined its Board of Directors.
“The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County has a strong and knowledgeable Board of Directors, and we are proud to announce four new members joining this dynamic group,” said James Gavrilos, President and CEO of the Education Foundation. “These business leaders share a passion for education and together we will empower students and strengthen our community, paving the way for a brighter future for Palm Beach County."
Bush has been the President and CEO of Gold Coast Federal Credit Union since 2019. The credit union was founded in 1936 and is a full-service financial institution in Palm Springs, Florida, serving over 20,000 members. Previously he was the President and CEO of Adventure Credit Union in Michigan and the CFO of Lake Michigan Credit Union. Bush received his bachelor’s degree and an MBA in finance from Western Michigan University. He currently resides in Palm Beach Gardens.
Dolan, a Jupiter resident, is the Chief of Facilities Management for the School District of Palm Beach County. He came to the District in 2017 from Palm Beach County government, where he worked with the Capital Improvements Division for over 10 years. Dolan earned a bachelor’s degree in architecture, with a focus in civil engineering, from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He is on the Glades Career Readiness Roundtable, serves as a District’s Facilities representative on the Council of the Great City Schools as well as a board member for the Palm Beach/Martin County Chapter of the ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) Mentor Program.
Holson is the Chief Operating Officer of HCA Florida JFK North Hospital, where she is responsible for the administrative direction, evaluation and coordination of the functions and activities of assigned departments to ensure operation objectives and results are in accord with overall hospital needs. She started her leadership journey at HCA Florida Largo Hospital as an Executive Resident before being promoted to Associate Administrator. Previously she was the Vice President of Operations at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, California. Holson received a bachelor’s degree in Hispanic linguistics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and went on to receive her master’s degree in health systems administration from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She currently resides in Delray Beach.
Kurty, a Palm Beach Gardens resident, is the Senior Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Engagement and Community at Office Depot. She manages projects, leads the company's strategic business initiatives, go-to-market strategy, employee engagement initiatives and leads external engagements through community investment efforts, brand partnerships, PR and media relations. She also held the positions of Senior Manager of Community Investments and Manager of Community Investments at Office Depot. Previously she was the County Director of Resource Development for United Way of Palm Beach. She is also a board member for ESG & CSR Board (Environmental, Social, and Governance & Corporate Social Responsibility). Kurty received her bachelor’s degree in human nutrition, foods and exercise with a concentration in exercise science and health promotion.
The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County, currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, was founded in 1984. The Foundation awards grants, supports innovative programs and scholarships, and provides necessary school supplies and resources from Red Apple Supplies, the Foundation’s signature program. The Education Foundation operates over 100 programs which close achievement gaps in learning, prepare students for post-secondary success and create positive, measurable change for over 100,000 students. The Foundation is currently in its $15 million “Brick by Brick, Mind by Mind” capital campaign. In December 2023, the Foundation broke ground on its 32,000 sq-foot innovation hub at 1515 Barton Road, Lake Worth Beach. The building is set to be completed in December 2024.
