WEST PALM BEACH (May 8, 2026) – Palm Beach County taxpayers can see exactly how their tax money was managed, spent and invested during Fiscal Year 2025 in the Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller’s award-winning report, Checks & Balances: Your Guide to County Finances.
The 18-page report contains easy-to-read charts that outline in plain language how taxpayer money is collected, budgeted and invested until they are needed to pay County expenses.
Among the highlights from this year’s Checks & Balances:
- Revenue from property taxes reached a new record level of $1.9 billion.
- The median sales price for a single-family home in the County reached a record $633,000.
- The County’s Tourist Development tax revenues increased by 7.9%.
- The Clerk’s office earned $222.6 million for Palm Beach County taxpayers through its management of the County’s investment portfolio, totaling $685 million over the last five fiscal years.

This is the 20th consecutive year that the Clerk’s office has released the award-winning report.
Most of the information contained in Checks & Balances comes from the Clerk’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which includes nearly 350-pages of in-depth data about County finances, revenue and spending.
