Commercial/Personal Injury Litigation Associate

This role involves managing both commercial and personal injury cases from inception through trial.

General Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience
  • Ability to manage commercial and personal injury cases from start to resolution
  • Strong case organization and theory development skills
  • Active engagement in case analysis, strategy, and collaboration with the team
  • Accurate time tracking and record-keeping
  • Willingness to seek guidance on procedural and strategic matters as needed
  • First-chair trial experience is a strong plus

Key Responsibilities:

Client Engagement:

  • Conduct initial client meetings with professionalism, compassion, and understanding
  • Utilize sales skills to secure client engagements
  • Identify and organize key case issues efficiently

Legal Research & Case Preparation:

  • Gather and analyze necessary case information
  • Organize initial case data and ensure compliance with disclosure requirements

Demand Letter & Litigation Process:

  • Draft well-written and compelling demand letters
  • Develop creative and strategic causes of action
  • Maintain proficiency in federal and state civil procedures, including managing deadlines
  • Draft complaints and oversee case management
  • Review client records and maintain communication with clients and adjusters
  • Prepare and conduct depositions with strategic questioning
  • Draft and respond to RFAs, interrogatories, and requests for production
  • Handle trials as first chair, including drafting jury instructions
  • Be familiar with the nuances of a PFS
  • Trial: Know the rules of evidence, draft jury instructions and lists/verdict sheets, conduct trial as first chair, beginning to end

Additional Skills & Software Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat DC
  • Familiarity with Neos (preferred but not required)
